Water Restrictions

The Board of Directors for your community has worked closely with the management team to allow some leniency for less healthy turf this season due to current water restrictions. However, this does not mean lawns should be neglected or watering stopped completely. Letters will be issued when necessary. Grass can go dormant during periods of limited watering while still remaining healthy but completely withholding water will cause permanent damage and could result in costly turf replacement next season.

There are several ways homeowners can help maintain their lawns while complying with water restrictions, including:

Watering during approved days and times to maximize absorption and minimize evaporation
Adjusting sprinkler systems to avoid runoff and overspray
Raising mower blade height to help retain soil moisture
Limiting foot traffic on stressed grass
Spot-watering dry areas when permitted
Applying mulch around landscaping to help conserve moisture
Aerating to ensure water is properly absorbed and
Fertilizing to help provide nutrients you grass needs to stay healthy and resilient

With proper care and responsible watering practices, your lawn can remain healthy throughout the season without excessive water use.
