Lakecrest Park Playground Renovation
As of Jan. 17, the Lakecrest Park Playground is now open to the public. The City of Arvada greatly appreciates the community’s patience as we worked to ensure the playground met our strict safety standards. Project Updates – Update for Jan. 18 – On Jan. 16, the Lakecrest Park Playground passed the City’s final safety inspection. On Jan. 17, construction fencing was removed and the park was opened to the public. Project Background – Construction of the playground was stopped by the City in late June when it was determined the soil on site needed further evaluation to ensure the structural integrity of the playground. In the first phase of this process, the City had a geotechnical report, or a soil analysis, performed. The next phase included a thorough review of the manufacturer’s specifications in conjunction with the findings of the soil analysis. The final phase of the project involved a safety audit and code compliance check of the playground. We realize this renovation project is took much longer to complete than anticipated. Your patience and understanding throughout this process has been greatly appreciated! For more information, please submit a request through Ask Arvada.
